Actress Noel Neill, the first Lois Lane passes away.
The actress who played Lois Lane, the lady love of Superman for the first time on screen, has passed away. Noel Neill passed away at the great age of 95 in her home in Tucson Arizona, after a long illness according to her manager and biographer Larry Ward. She played the part of the lady reporter in 1948 and in 1950 movie serials alongside Kirk Alyn, who played Superman. She was apparently making public appearances right up to her 90th Birthday.
She also partnered George Reeves in the same role between 1953 and 1958 and she made a re-appearance in the 1978 Christopher Reeve Superman film as the mother of Lois Lane and again in 2006. She was in the Superman Returns film and she made an appearance recently in the TV series Super Boy which was based on Superman’s younger years.
As a mark of respect for those who have passed, I will not draw cards on someone who’s journey through this plane is now complete. It is right to remember her contribution to this world and the light she brought to people’s lives through her acting.
