What are Adele’s deepest fears?
Adele never ceases to amaze me with her frankness. She comes across as being honest and down to earth. Even to the point of stopping performances to sort out audience members who are taking advantage by filming her performances. Once again, she showed us that she is a normal human being with all the normal fears and worries. This all happened during an interview with Vanity Fair when she opened up about her postnatal depression and the stress of being a young mother on the road.
To Adele, I would say.
Every mother out there can relate to the stress of motherhood. Childbirth is a beautiful journey, but the hormones that go hand in hand with your new precious bundle, can also bring along depression. This does not make you a bad mother. It makes you normal. By speaking out about your depression, you are letting other mothers out there know that it’s ok to feel depressed. Hormones are all over the place after the birth, but it’s not a journey you need to travel alone.
Let’s throw out a few cards for you Adele and see what they are saying.
The Ten of Cups.
This is the card of the heart and the home. You have said that you may be done with touring. This card is saying exactly that. There is a strong need to return to basics. This doesn’t mean the end of your career. It is just the next phase of your life. It is not easy being professional and a mother to a young child. So, this will allow you more time to be both with better life balance and a happier heart.
The Knight of Swords.
This is the card of battle. The battle between what your head is saying you should do, and what your heart is saying you should do. It’s a battle many of us have, but in your case Adele, the pressure is overwhelming. You can add the hormones into the mix which brings on the depression. You know whatever you choose to do someone will have an issue with it. Well, you are stronger than you give yourself credit for. Take back the control.
The Justice Card
Here is the card that tells us that you will make the right decision. Regardless of what the world thinks it wants from you, it’s your call. You owe it to yourself and your child to do right by both of you and nobody can fault you for that. At the end of the day, depression is something that needs dealing with. Mind and body are connected and both need healing time.
