The Aftermath of Adele`s Grammy Comments
Whenever the winner acknowledges those he or she defeated, speaks about excellent character. Nothing says more about their professionalism. For them, the `race` isn`t only about winning, but also about appreciating the `race` itself. Including all of its participants. The `Hello` singer stayed humble all the way through, praising another artist, Beyoncé.
“My artist of my life is Beyoncé and this album for me, the ‘Lemonade’ album is just so monumental. It was so monumental and so well thought out and so beautiful and soul-bearing and we all got to see another side of you that you don’t always let us see and we appreciate that.”
Her words were heart-warming and Beyoncé was touched by their meaning. However, what she said next had a nearly instant backlash on Adele.
“The way that you make me and my friends feel — and the way that you make my black friends feel — is empowering. You make them stand up for themselves and I love you, and I always have and I always will.”
Adele`s comment about her `black friends` stirred emotions amongst her followers. Tweet followed tweet about their discomfort and shock at her choice of words. However, not everyone thought Adele was out of place. Beyoncé certainly didn`t think so, and by some it was actually taken as the greatest support.
