Baseball Legend Derek Jeter And Wife Hannah Welcome Their First Child
Well it looks like we have another superstar addition to the world of sports. Congratulations are in order for Derek and Hannah Jeter! The couple has welcomed their first child, a daughter named Bella Raine Jeter.
The Players’ Tribune, which was founded by Derek, shared the news on Twitter Thursday, writing:
#“Congratulations Derek and @hannahbjeter on the birth of your baby girl, Bella Raine Jeter. The baby girl was born on August 17th.
Rumors that Derek and Hannah were dating began back in 2012, but the couple didn’t make their official red-carpet debut until May 2015, when they attended the Met Gala together. In November of that year, the retired Yankees captain confirmed they were engaged and had their wedding nuptial in July 2016. The Sports Illustrated model announced her pregnancy back in February with an essay speaking about getting used to her husband’s fame and coping with what comes along with being married to one of baseball’s most famous players. “We want our kids’ lives to be as ‘normal’ as possible. They’re going to be born into such an extraordinary situation. They’re going to have to be some strong little people,” she wrote. “We don’t want them to be defined by their dad’s name — for them, we want him to just be ‘Dad.’ That will be the piece of him they’ll have that the rest of the world doesn’t. It will be special, and it will be theirs.”
Derek Jeter held numerous records during his baseball career. He was recruited right out of high school in 1992 and officially retired in 2017. Jeter earned the nicknames of “Captain Clutch” and “Mr. November” due to his outstanding play in the postseason. Jeter was one of the most heavily marketed athletes of his generation and is involved in several product endorsements. His personal life and relationships with celebrities have drawn the attention of the media throughout his career. Teammates and opponents alike regard Jeter as a consummate professional and one of the best players of his generation. After his retirement, Jeter pursued many business interests, including in 2017, he finalized a deal to become co-owner of the Miami Marlins. Jeter was the 28th player to reach 3,000 hits and finished his career ranked sixth in MLB history in career hits and first among shortstops. When he retired from the Yankees, they retired his uniform number 2.
Susan Z’s Conclusion:
Hannah and Derek have been together since 2012, with a short break in 2014 so obviously, they realized there was something worthwhile keeping. He has had his share of models and stars for sure, being with Minka Kelley for 3 years but I guess this is the one that stuck. Congrats to the new parents!
Six of Cups:
Forgiveness of a situation and nostalgia for the past. This card I feel has precedence on two levels, the forgiveness on some issues between him and Hannah from the past they have worked through and also Jeter missing the superstar position he held for so many years. Once you retire, you are now spoken of in terms “he used to be this or in the past, held the record of this.”
Princess of Pentacles:
New plans of creativity. I believe this card represents his new daughter and his relationship with her. One of those circumstances that fatherhood completely changes a man’s priorities. We definitely have a daddy’s little girl.
The Hermit:
Going within and a need for isolation. I feel Jeter will more than likely drop out of the spotlight for a short while to celebrate his new family.
