Becoming the best version of yourself!
How does someone thrive with the hand they have been dealt when the two main currencies have eluded them? The two main currencies? Finding true love and earning or acquiring more money.
Many people believe that the area in which we focus our energy is the area that expands. Apparently, we should follow our passions whilst considering our own actions and habits. What sustains and what drains? If something feels great then we carry on in the knowledge that we’re on the right path. However, if it’s not so great, then we should understand why. The aim is not to be the best in the world, just the best version of ourselves.
So what can we do?
We take our time to understand how we react to situations and then work with what we know and what we have. There is not a need to wait until we have acquired true love before we can truly be happy with ourselves. There is not a need to wait for a lottery win before we can plan the next stages of our lives, Wallace Wattles says that being grateful for the small things will help us acquire bigger things. Why not begin with what is available right now? For example, we don’t need an expensive gym membership in order to be the perfect size. We just need a decent pair of walking shoes and to venture outside. Social media has its place and it’s great for reaching out to people who are not in our locality, but there’s no substitute for venturing out and actually seeing someone in person. Did we mention that laughter is the best medicine?
Let’s leave the last word to Ernest Hemingway, ‘There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man, true nobility is being superior to your former self.’
Being the best version of ourselves requires us to fully accept who we are. Let’s take a look at some cards. We have the Ten of Pentacles, the Two of Hearts and the High Priestess.
The Ten of Pentacles is a money card, it’s also the card of commitment. In order to be the best version of yourself, a commitment should be made… to yourself. Try not to worry about being self indulgent. How will others know what you want if you don’t tell them. Additionally, it’s easier to help others when you are coming from a position of strength.
The High Priestess is the all seeing spiritual being and represents our own intuition. This card reinforces that following your own instincts is the right path. If something does not feel right then remove it from your life as you focus on being true to yourself.
The Four of Hearts is the card of re-evaluation. If you are bored or dissatisfied with your path and wish to make positive changes, then withdrawing from distractions and following your heart will offer insight into what the next steps should be. The process of re-evaluation may feel like a process of elimination, in order to understand what you want then also understand what you don’t want.
Being the best version of yourself is accepting yourself completely… flaws and all.
