Fergie And Josh Duhamel….Another “Perfect” Couple Crushed
“We are and will always be united.” Why is it when star couples break up, they end it with an always and forever quote about their now-defunct relationship? It looks like another one of those “perfect” couples have called it quits. Fergie, 42 and Josh Duhamel, 45, filed for separation after 8 years of marriage. The body count has been high this last year with Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt starting it and then most recently, Anna Faris and Chris Pratt. The signs are usually all there. You stop seeing them as a couple on the red carpet and start reading about their separate career projects taking off or not but mostly the Instagram photos slow down and the paparazzi catch them out together less and less. There were the usual rumors of cheating but as one insider shared: “They completely grew apart. This was a long time coming and they’ve been trying to sort everything out this past year.”
They have been together 13 years and married 8. “With absolute love and respect, we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year,” the couple said in a joint statement. “To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.” The couple are parents to 4-year-old son Axl, who the duo seems to dote over. Duhamel told People in May that he and Fergie share “a lot of love for our son and have a good time together.” “The thing that really amazes me about her is her incredible patience and absolute dedication and love for him,” Duhamel quoted in an interview. “She puts him above anything else.” “For a girl, which everything has always been about her, to see what the love of a child can do is pretty amazing. She would do anything for that kid,” he added. “She’s an amazing mom.”
Duhamel first laid eyes on Fergie while watching a Black Eyed Peas music video back in 2004 and was immediately smitten. The actor was so taken by her that he asked producers if the band could be featured on his former show “Las Vegas.” When Fergie showed up on set, Duhamel was a mess. “I was really nervous and that was my moment of truth. I laid out my outfit the night before,” Duhamel told US Weekly with a laugh. “It was a big build to the moment that I could finally talk to her. And all I could say was, ‘You’re hot.’” Apparently those two simple words seemed to do the trick. The couple wed in 2009.

It is a common problem with power star couples, inevitably the duty of career demands, traveling and being apart take its toll on the relationship. You are also dealing with huge and fragile egos and both Fergie and Duhamel have been trying kick start their careers again, so all the energy goes there. If there is trouble in paradise before the career struggles happen, the relationship will take the first hit.
