Heath Ledger’s Father Speaks about His Son’s Death
Heath Ledger’s father spoke to the Australian media about his son’s death. Kim Ledger, told them that he still feels that his son’s death was his own fault. “You can’t blame anyone else for this situation” Kim Said. “That’s hard to accept because I loved him so much and was so proud of him.”
Heath’s body was discovered in his apartment in 2008 face down after ingesting a combination of painkillers and sleeping pills. Heath’s sister had tried to warn her brother of the dangers of the cocktail previously but to no avail. He reportedly said, “Katie, Katie I’m fine, I know what I’m doing.”
This is a tragic loss of a very young and very talented person. Like so many before him, his dedication to his work was so powerful he was going to do anything to be there when his work called. But sadly, our human body is not a machine, it is a delicate organism which must be treated with respect.
Our world is all the sadder today for the loss of an amazing person. When we think of all the talents Heath and the many like him, still had to show the word, it’s such a terrible loss. We can only wish his family peace in his memory, and hope for eternal peace for Heath, who left us all too soon. May he rest in peace.
