Home Alone’ Actor John Heard Dead At 72

John Heard starred in some of the most beloved movies of the ’80s and ’90s and best known for his role as the father to the oft-forgotten Kevin McCallister in the original “Home Alone” movies has died. He was 72. Heard’s body was found in a Palo Alto, California hotel room where he was recovering from a recent surgery. “I can confirm that our officers responded with the Fire Department to a hotel in our city yesterday on a report of a person in need of medical aid,” a police spokesperson told People. “The person was determined to be John Hears and deceased. While still under investigation, the death is not considered suspicious at this time.” Days earlier, Heard reportedly underwent “minor back surgery” at Stanford Medical Center. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Heard first began acting in 1975 and his role was in a TV movie called “Valley Forge.” He went on to land roles in countless other films and TV shows. The veteran actor’s extensive career includes celebrated roles in the first two “Home Alone” films, he played Tom Hanks co-worker in “Big” and co-starred with Bette Midler in “Beaches.” Heard also appeared in films like “Gladiator,” “White Chicks” and “The Great Debaters.” He made guest appearances in a variety of TV roles, ranging from “Miami Vice”, “Battlestar Galactica” to “Prison Break” and “The Sopranos,” which earned him an Emmy nomination for outstanding guest actor. The Washington, D.C., native revealed in 2008 that he thought he could have done more with his career. “I sort of got sidetracked. But that’s OK, that’s all right, that’s the way it is …” he said in a 411Mania interview. “I don’t have any regrets. Except that I could have played some bigger parts.” In 2016, Heard told the Baltimore Media Blog that his favorite role was in “Sharknado.” “I thought it would replace people calling me the ‘Home Alone Dad,’” he said.

Heard was married and divorced three times, including to “Superman” actress Margot Kidder for just six days in 1979. He is survived by three children, Max, Annika and John. His son Max reportedly died in December. Most recently, he just wrapped on projects “Imprisoned,” “The Tale,” “Last Rampage” and “Living Among Us.” The actor was reportedly still filming a starring role in the movie “Broome Street Boys.”

We Have Lost Yet Another Great Solid Supporting Actor… He Will Be Missed

Susan Z’s Conclusion:

Princess of Wands:
This is the energy of a youthful person and always wanting new projects to work on. I believe that Heard just wanted to keep on acting as he stated he was desperate to recover from his back surgery and get back to work.

Two Of Cups: Inverted (Upside Down)
This is the energy of a new relationship. Since drawn inverted, it more than likely supports his inability to sustain a personal relationship as all his marriages but one, were very short lived.

Ace of Swords:
This is about cutting away what is no longer needed. I feel this might be related to his back surgery that he finally addressed and was long overdue. No determination of death has been revealed yet but I believe it may be directly related from his surgery.
