Michelle Obama’s fond farewell.

As the Obama family prepare to leave the White House, Mrs Obama enjoyed one last stroll around the place that has been home for the past eight years. Posting a video on twitter earlier this week, accompanied by the family dogs Bo and Sunny, Michelle walked and talked us through The Red Room, Green Room and Blue Room as well as the East Room.

The Obama’s won’t be venturing too far outside the location since the youngest daughter Sasha will be finishing High School. Yes, they have a fabulous property lined up, fit for a former Presidential family, but I would guess that any home of Michelle Obama would be a happy home. I’m sure someone like Mrs Obama would agree that the square footage is immaterial. It’s not a question of how much or how little space we have, rather how we use the space that counts, nurturing each family member. Solitude for homework? – Versus – Loud voices and loud music? Compromise and laughter!

Let’s take a couple of Mrs Obama’s best quotes.

On marriage: ‘In our house we don’t take ourselves too seriously, and laughter is the best form of unity, I think, in a marriage.’

Through the dark times: ‘Hope is a necessary concept. What do you give your kids if you can’t give them hope?’

The Pièce de résistance…

On maintaining dignity: ‘When they go low, we go high!’

Véronique’s Verdict

Mrs Obama drew the Magician, the Princess of Pentacles and the Two of Hearts.

The Magician
This is pictorially symbolic. On this card, the magician wears a Pentacle, a Heart, a Sword and a Wand as objects of mastery over the four elements. Behind the magician is the regal city. Michelle has mastered the role of First Lady and she is now ready to hand over to Mrs Trump. She is leaving the White House behind and is ready to use her mind on new challenges.

The Princess of Pentacles
This represents a youthful energy and in this case, it is their daughter. Michelle has championed many education initiatives and as the old saying goes, ‘Charity begins at home.’ This will be one area of focus for the former First Lady.

The Two of Hearts
This is the true love card and the main focus here is on the marriage partner. With all of her elegance and grace, Mrs Obama is ready for joyful play and sociability. These two hearts beat as one.

It’s the end of an era for the Obama family and the focus will be on family life away from the White House. Michelle Obama, we salute you!
