Michelle Obama is getting ready to move on from the White House. She has given her final interview with Vogue magazine as First Lady. Mrs Obama explained in her interview with the magazine that two terms and eight years is enough, because it’s important to have one foot in reality when one has access to the kind of power that comes with the job of First Lady. She revealed that being immersed in political life can make it difficult to connect with everyday experience.
Mr Obama sent an e-mail to Vogue paying tribute to his wife stating that he always knew Michelle would be an incredible First Lady when the role was thrust upon her. Mrs Obama remains committed to a life of public service and will continue to champion two educational initiatives, ‘Reach Higher’ and ‘Let Girls Learn.’ The Reach Higher initiative wishes to inspire every student in America to take charge of their future by completing their education past high school and Mrs Obama is tireless in encouraging young people to make the best choices after leaving high school.
The Obamas are due to leave the White House in January 2017. Let’s leave the last word to Mr Obama. ‘I always knew she’d be incredible as First Lady, and put her own unique stamp on the job.
