Milo Yiannopoulos the Greek-British journalist was the first person to be banned from twitter after his rant at the Ghostbuster star Leslie Jones. Now there are those who say they were interfering with free speech and all that stuff, but when someone has to resort to destroying another person’s life to better their own life, then there is seriously somethings wrong. Bullying is wrong regardless of if it is done by an adult or a child.
Leslie Jones is an actress, who did a job. That does not give anyone the right to attempt to destroy her health and her life by harassing her relentlessly. This is not humour, this is not a free speech right, nor is it the right of any journalist to launch such an attack. This is nothing short of the mentality of a school yard bully. The Damage caused by bullying should never be underestimated, as it can destroy people simply for the entertainment of the bully. To stand back and do nothing when you witness it, makes you as guilty as the bully. Perhaps Twitter’s action will send a powerful message of respect to all others planning such an evil campaign.
