Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber split after 11 Years. What went wrong?
Hollywood couple Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber have announced their separation after 11 years together. They released a joint statement saying that the best way forward for them as a family is to separate as a couple. Apparently, they still love and respect each other and remain friends. Earlier this year ‘Ray Donovan’ actor Liev, was interviewed by Esquire magazine. He relayed the story of how he met Naomi, recalling that she had invited him to dance at a club and then chased him outside asking if he would like her number. He revealed that they went out for cupcakes the following day and the rest is history. He described it as very silly and very romantic.
There have been many suggestions in the press over the years that Liev has cheated with other women. In 2011 he was forced to deny cheating with an Australian model. There has been much speculation of an imminent divorce with claims that Naomi walks on eggshells due to Liev being difficult to live with. This is something else they have been forced to publicly deny. Apparently, the split wasn’t due to a particular issue. Yes, it’s always the little things.
The former couple were out promoting their film, ‘The Bleeder’ at the Venice and Toronto International Film Festivals earlier this summer appearing happy in each others company. However, fans were quick to point out that Naomi was conspicuous in her absence at the Emmy Awards earlier this month. Liev attended the ceremony with their son. They have appealed to the press to be mindful of their children’s right to privacy.

So which cards did Naomi and Liev draw today. We have the King of Swords, the Princess of Hearts and the Seven of Hearts.
The King of Swords is very much Liev’s card. There is a sense of intellect and wishing for further mental stimulation. There is a feeling of coldness from Liev. He comes across as thoughtful but there is a noted lack on emotion and an insensitivity. Irrespective of whether he cheated, I feel that he could have been a little more noble in his actions towards his wife. Could this be one of the reasons for the separation.
The Princess of Hearts is Naomi’s card. Despite being a grown woman with a high-powered job and a family, there appears to be a vulnerability within her. There is an emotional naivety and an indolent energy, this can come across as indifference. I can’t help but wonder if Liev felt she did not care for him and so he appeared to close off his emotions. We should never assume that a partner knows how we feel. Communication is essential even if it seems obvious. We need to tell them too.
The Seven of Hearts shows the differences between the couple. It has not been easy for them to come to this monumental decision. However, they have been able to separate the facts from the fantasy. There is an acceptance of their reality rather than what they wish it was. I feel that they will remain respectful towards each other while on their respective life path’s. There are no winner’s when it comes to separation and divorce but I do feel that Naomi and Liev are managing themselves in the most amicable way. We wish them all the best.
