Obama`s America then, now and later
America`s 44th President has set a high standard for future candidates, including Donald Trump. Obama`s attitude, speeches, dedication and way of thinking inspired many during his eight years of presidency. He did way more than that. Although some achievements are yet to come to fruition, he will be remembered as someone who brought change.
His path hasn`t been easy. When he first appeared in front of his audience, he had to convince them that he was capable of leading. Not only did he come from a `broken` family, but he was the first Afro-American to become president.
Then he got a `broken` country, one that he tried hard to fix. Some say that he succeeded, while others disagree. During his time, unemployment issues improved, more people acquired housing, and people were reported to be less stressful. A lot of them still believe in his legacy and he certainly gained himself some respect.
Although, like any other time, opposition rarely admits that respect, let alone admiration. His politics and decisions will be challenged long after he resigned. In some way, this also makes his `work` immortal, as his ideas will be remembered.
One thing is clear: till the last moment of his presidency, he had the nation`s best interest in mind.
