Orange is the New Black racial tension

The dramedy Orange is the New Black, has won critical acclaim at the way it handles situations which, in the real world are a cause for great concern. In a dramatically, often funny way, it brings us face to face with things like racial tension, overcrowding in prisons and violence towards inmates from a new guard regime.  Racism is most likely one of the ugliest sides of the human condition, so taking it on as a subject needs to be done with kid gloves.

This is all about to kick off in the fourth season, so it should have you glued to your seats. Piper is our lead through the series and it’s through her character we get to see the whole story unravel. I’m sure everyone, everywhere, can find a character within the prison that they can relate to and that adds to the appeal of the series. It has a tendency to take issues that people would avoid in the real world and walk you through it, be it gently or not. So not to give too much away from the spoilers, perhaps you should just tune in and enjoy the show.

Master Psychic Vincent’s Verdict.

What do the cards say around the series? Well the Nine of Coins and the Page of Coins show someone is working their way to the top. Not surprisingly in a prison system, the stakes are changed and finances in what you have to offer to others in order to get what you want. The Seven of Wands  shows that they will need to have their wits about them, as there are many jealous eyes watching an achiever and there could be penalties. Watch this space.
