Paul McCartney wrote to Prince asking for donations.

Singer-songwriter Paul McCartney wrote to the artist Prince asking for donations to help with a Fame like School in Liverpool. This was back pre- 1996 as that was the year the school opened. The Letter sold for almost $15000 at auction. In the letter McCartney says:

“Dear Princely Person, Hi there! I know how hard it is to always be getting letters asking for some favour or another, so it was not easy for me to accept the job of lead Patron for a performing Arts School to be located in my hometown of, Liverpool”

“But, you guessed it! I did agree to do it, so now I’m writing to friends and all good people’ to try and interest them in the scheme”.

McCartney goes on to explain how a Fame like School would help kids from disadvantaged and different buckhounds to come together under the umbrella of art and invited Prince to come and help with educating these kids. Imagine a kid from Liverpool, with a dream of stardom in a classroom and the door opens and Prince walked in to take the class. Now, that would be some experience. I have the greatest of respect for Paul McCarthy so this just seals it for me.

Master Psychic Vincent’s Verdict.

Now we know that the school opened in 1996, but what do the cards say about its future? The Page of Swords shows the struggle this school had to start off and also the struggle most of its students would have faced in the early days to get a chance to blossom at their chosen art. The King of Coins shows the kind-hearted donations both financially and energy wise which was put into building this school into the success it is today. With a 96% success rate of past students to its credit. The Five of Cups shows that this truly was a labour of love which blossomed and is still blooming today. I feel no reason why it should be any other way in the coming years.
