Emmy nomination disqualified for Peter MacNicol.

Actor Peter MacNicol has had his nomination for an Emmy withdrawn, as the Television academy says it was ineligible. His nomination was for his outstanding guest actor as Jeff Kane in the Comedy Veep on HBO. In order to qualify, the actor could only appear in 50% of the current series of the show. Peter did exactly that, 50% but was deemed not suitable. That’s a bit close to the edge for my liking.

Now I won’t pretend to have seen this show, but I have seen Peter MacNicol in many other performances. One of my favourites as Renfield in Dracula Dead and Loving It with the late great Leslie Neilson who passed over in 2010. Peter won me as a fan in that role and never ceased to show his true professional side in a way that would brighten even the dullest of days. Well, I think for most fans like me, he is already a winner, so don’t worry Peter, there will be other awards.

Master Psychic Vincent’s Verdict.

What do the cards say about Peter MacNicol? Here is someone with a big heart, those who know him would be aware of not just his professional abilities, which are beyond doubt but a heart that is visible in all his performances. For Peter, the Four of Wands shows someone who likes organisation in his work. There is no room for grey areas, it either is or it isn’t, doubts just through the confusion that is unnecessary. Planning is key. The Magician sees that this man is multi-talented. We know him fondly as an amazing comedy actor, but there are a lot more strings to his bow and the day will come that they will emerge and surprise. Watch this space.
