Prince Tribute at the BET awards
It was the moment many Prince fans were waiting for, and thought was much overdue for this talented artist who left us this year. The BET awards did what they said they would, but rather than one tribute to the legend we knew as Prince, many artists came together to give their heartfelt dedication to a fellow artist. Comedian Dave Chappelle said: “We miss him dearly, but tonight, the BET awards will celebrate the rich legacy of this remarkable genius that we are all so proud of.”
Prince was one of a line of celebrities who left us this year, and his parting was very sudden. This sent shock waves across the entertainment industry. As with all friends’ people need a way of saying goodbye when they lose someone they know, and for the friends if Prince, this was their moment. Bile, Erykah Badu, The Roots, all delivered their musical tributes to honour this great performer.
As normal I don’t believe it is respectful to turn the cards for those who have gone, as their journey here has come to an end, but I firmly believe the person, the being that they were has not come to an end. We are beings of energy as much as flesh, and when the flesh dies, the energy moves on to a different state. Energy never dies it simply transforms. This energy still contains the being we knew and loved on this side, so when we send them our emotions which is a form of energy, their essence can feel it. I have no doubt that Prince was aware of the wonderful tribute shown by his friends in commemoration of his lifetime achievements here on this earth.
