The Psychic Backlash of Paranormal Investigation

Anyone who has watched the Paranormal Investigators, Ghost Hunters or The Haunted, see the eagerness of the people who are on the shows. They talk up possibilities of what they will find, enthusiastically relate all the gory details that come with the place they are investigating and love to drama queen a moment with the screams, jumps and curses. They are really into what they are doing and you can see they love it!

Why they became interested in hauntings, exorcisms, demonology or spirit communication is their own story. But having known a few of these enthusiastic ghost hunters personally, what they do not tell you is the dangers of the physical, emotional and mental harm that can sometimes come with that obsession.

Doing a little research on what paranormal investigators have to say about their own personal experiences, I would caution the novice going it alone. But before you put your ghost hunting overalls on and jump into your “who you gonna call” siren car, here is some cautionary advice from real paranormal investigators.

Many paranormal investigators believe there are real dangers of a spiritual nature that a novice ghost hunter or paranormal investigator should be aware of called “psychic backlash.” Psychic backlash is an occurrence that can happen during paranormal investigations when the phenomenon under study becomes aware that it is being watched, tracked and evaluated.

What causes the Psychic Backlash

The backlash happens when an investigator is deeply immersed in the topic over a long period of time and usually is focused intensely on those paranormal events. This intense focus makes the object of investigation agitated and it in a sense lashes back that intensity at the investigator.

This backlash can manifest in a variety of ways, but it usually starts off slowly and can build into a full-on possession.

But what could be more exciting than going to a supposed haunted location to seek out the paranormal, right? Oh, and then there are the cemeteries which are becoming notorious for sightings of spirits with people hoping to get a thrill by going to such places to catch a glimpse these spirits, ghosts or entities.

The first thing a paranormal investigator will tell you that the metaphysical dangers of an investigation are real and should be taken seriously. If it were only the physical and emotional things to worry about, then this field of study could be done by almost anyone but that’s not the case. It is the danger of mental breakdown.

Inviting danger

Sometimes things can and do follow you home at the end of the night. This is where the dangers come in. Yes, ghosts, spirits, demons and any other entity can attach themselves to you. You need to keep in mind and be open to the fact that if there are good spirits, then there are bad ones as well. Most times an evil entity starts out claiming to be the spirit of a deceased person or someone that died tragically. This way the evil spirit can sucker the unsuspecting ghost hunter into believing that they are helping a spirit by communicating with it. This gives the demonic or negative being more energy to manifest into something that the unsuspecting did not count on.

The act in itself is to trick you into thinking it is friendly, and this can go on for some time, or at least until the negative entity or demonic force feels that it has your full trust. Then it begins to mess with your mind and reality.

Anyone can grab a recorder, ask a question and get a response. If you do not know how to protect yourself, you can have your life turned upside down by unseen forces. The parting wisdom of these experienced ghost hunters and paranormal investigators was this: “We cannot express enough how important it is, if you want to become an investigator or you want to get involved in the paranormal, that you go with a team that has years of experience and is fully aware of the dangers out there and how to conduct themselves professionally and, most of all, safely.” Amen to that!

Psychic Susan Z’s Reading

To sum up the warning of these experienced paranormal investigators, entities on the “other side” and in other dimension can be sneaky little devils and their only agenda is to create fear and havoc. We all want to think that ghost hunting is about helping a poor lost soul move into the light and become free but apparently that is not always the circumstances. If you are an enthusiastic ghost hunting obsessive, then be aware of any strange behavior in and around your daily life or in behavior. If so, then get a cleansing done by someone who is skilled at this as there is always a reason for the changes.

Card One: Knight of Wands (Inverted)

Freedom to do what you want and not having the patience to wait for the right timing. Being inverted, I feel this is a cautionary card to those novices who think it would be great fun to go to a cemetery late at night with a Ouija board.

Knight of Wands (Inverted)

Card Two: Ace of Swords (Inverted)

Cuts away all the crap and communicates what needs to be said. Inverted, once again a cautionary card to be careful of who you are speaking with and what you are being told.

Ace of Swords (Inverted)

Card Three: Five of Wands

Argumentive energy from outside sources and also can be within. Another card to support being cautious so as not attract and keep a negative entity and it decides it wants to hang with you for awhile.
