People quite often ask me when they will get a new car, get $1,000, make some changes or get out of a bad relationship. The easiest answer: “Only when you make it happen.” We each have far more control over our lives than we may realize and must be proactive participants in what happens to us and when. That is a recurring theme is this week’s Tami Time.

Norm very much desires a new RV, bgall is trying to be a better person for her young son, Jeannine is wanting a change in her living situation and Melissa is anxious to be financially stable.

“Will I ever get a new RV?” – Norm

The card that came up for your question, Norm, was the Four of Pentacles which quite literally speaks of saving money, budgeting and self-control. If you truly desire an RV, used or new, you must work to make it happen for yourself. I am not foreseeing anyone gifting you one or even helping you to obtain one on financing as in a co-signor. If it is important enough to you, which I think it is because I get at least one email from you about it every single week, then you will find a way to make it happen. No one will facilitate it for you.

“Am I ever going to get better or stronger and believe in myself and love myself for once so I can be strong for my 2 year old? I want to become a better person and mother . I do everything I can do my son I also do it all alone because even tho I choose to stop doing drugs the love of my life best friend for 17 years didn’t want to or wasn’t able to stop using so I had to put it in the courts hands because I didn’t know how else to help him nor do I feel he even loved me enough to do so he may have cheated I sure know he tried I clearly wasn’t good enough the last 7 months have been absolute hell for both me and him I’m sure I know he lives his son he was an amazing father in the beginning before he chose to use and never stop now he is in jail I can’t talk to him Bev it was for a pfa but he accused me every day of bein with someone or cheating or using and none of that is true he said he never wanted to see me or my son again and he would start a new family I am absolutely heartbroken destroyed and lost and confused I don’t know who to trust what to do I feel I’m not good enough that our whole time together was a lie and that absolutely breaks my heart I just don’t know anymore .” – bgall

Hon, if you truly want to be a better person and mother then just do what needs to be done to make that happen. Change is not automatic and changes like this are never, ever easy. The first thing you need to do is to completely let go of any hopes and desires that your former partner and the father of your son will ever change. Maybe he will, maybe he won’t. Either way, that is on him and you have absolutely zero control over that. I strongly urge you to continue trying to hold him accountable for his responsibilities toward his son through the courts. But other than that, you gotta let him go.

Harness the energy you expend toward hoping he will one day come around and reinvest it in yourself as only you can bring about and manifest the desired changes you have for you.

The reversed Five of Wands came up for you, hon, which speaks of change and conflict. The change is indicative of the changes you desire to be made within yourself and the conflict pertains to the changes you so desperately want to see in your child’s father. This conflict is zapping your energy and very much taking away from any efforts and strides you may be making as the change pertains to yourself.

You have already done the hardest part by choosing to get off the drugs. If you are not already in Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous, I implore you to start going to one of them at least weekly. That will help you with you. Also, I urge you to consider Al Anon which will help you to better understand how and why you simply cannot help your son’s father.

“I am sending this message to ask if I will see any changes coming to my current living situation. I was wondering if I will be able to move into my own living space before the end of this year. I currently live in a place where the commute for me is too long and too far away from my current workplace. I hope to find a location where I won’t be on public transit for so long and I will be able to have my personal space. I was wondering if you see that happening this year. ” – Jeannine

Hon, the card that came up for you was the Page of Wands which talks about inspired ideas and unlimited potential. You could certainly have your own living space this year, closer to your place of employment, but it will take some creative financing and making yourself more marketable at work so you can earn more money.

There are countless resources online to help you with self-education and a great many of them are free. It just takes a lot of searching, but you can find innumerable ways to advance your skills. Heed the advice of this card and get creative.

“My question is how much longer do i have to wait to be financially stable from my own doings, earnings to be comfortably that is total mine with no one holding anything over my head, while taking advantage controling my life and hopefully be truely happy ? ?? Or will I even get a piece of any of it ?? I just want to be me and not have people use, abuse, control take advantage of me being gulabul ?? Im tired of hurting inside n out. I might finally be damaged goods… Lol. Anyway thanks for your time, I appreciate it.” – Melissa

Stop waiting, hon, and just make it happen. There is an old saying, “Keep doing what you’ve been doing, and you will keep getting what you’ve been getting.”

If you know people are taking advantage of you and controlling you, put a stop to it. Stop being gullible and if you think you may be damaged goods, take steps to overcome that. No one is beyond repair and the key to true happiness is only something that you can find within yourself. Better friends will not make you happy. Money will not make you happy. Only you can make you happy.

Through the reversed Page of Cups, I am seeing that you quite often doubt yourself, but more importantly, you doubt your own intuition. Also, you are extremely raw emotionally. You may benefit from counseling and if money or no insurance is a concern, there may be some resources available to you if you live in a large enough metropolitan area. There are options through pastoral care and other organizations. If you seriously consider counseling to help you get yourself on track, call around to different churches seeking referrals for any resources that may work with you either for free or on a sliding scale.
