We all have friends, family, partners, bosses and acquaintances that we do a quick psychoanalysis on their personality and quirks by what star sign they were born under. You know we’ve all said it: “He’s a Scorpio, he is going to be very hard to please!” or “That’s Aries for you, they just think they are God’s gift and have to be the best at everything”. The traits of a person’s star-sign can be extremely apparent sometimes, but even still you have to watch out to make sure you don’t say the wrong thing.

So, doing a little research on how to keep from having foot in mouth syndrome or being misunderstood, here are some no-no’s that you don’t ever want to say to a particular astrological sign. Whether it be romantic, family, friends or boss.

Aries: March 21 – April 19

“You totally screwed this up!”
Aries hates making mistakes. This ram sign prides themselves on getting things right the first time and believe they are naturally good at everything.

Taurus: April 20 – May 20

“Was that supposed to be funny?”
People born under the Taurus star sign use humor as an icebreaker and a way to level the playing field. By cracking jokes, these bulls are trying to create an atmosphere of warmth and good vibes. Don’t think they are funny, they get mad or hurt!

Gemini: May 21 – June 20

“Do you even have a clue to what you’re talking about?”
Usually if a Gemini is discussing something in depth it is because they know what they are talking about. Seriously. They are likely one of the most well-read and fully informed members of the zodiac and when they step up to discuss something, they’re most likely armed with facts.

Cancer: June 21 – July 22

“No, that’s alright, I don’t need your help.”
Basically, you’re telling a kind hearted, people-pleasing Cancer they’re “extra.” These sensitive crabs go out of their way to help the people they care for and by making them feel like their efforts were in vain, you’re knocking them right in their soft underbellies. Also, they’ll literally never help you again.

Leo: July 23 – August 22

“You’re not that great!”
The quickest way to extinguish the fire inside a Leo is to tell them they’re not good at something. Since this sign is hypercritical of themselves and sensitive to other people’s judgment, they’re not only likely to believe you, but feel like crap, too.

Virgo: August 23 – September 22

“Are you out of your mind?!”
Virgo is an incredibly sensitive sign that works hard to keep their feelings under wraps in order to function in the world. Calling them mentally unstable isn’t just cruel, it hits them on a personal level and makes them feel judged, which is a surefire way to elicit an outburst from this occasional hot-head.

Libra: September 23 – October 22

“You’re cute but not exactly what I would call beautiful/handsome.”
Dagger to the heart! Libra tries so hard to look their best every day and are incredibly sensitive to criticism about their appearance. Telling this obsessive, they aren’t attractive is one of the absolute worst.

Scorpio: October 23 – November 22

Stop talking to them.
The worst thing you can say to a Scorpio is nothing. Ghosting or ignoring them is more upsetting than staying and arguing. This fiery sign absolutely cannot deal with no communication.

Sagittarius: November 23 – December 21

“Nobody cares what you think.”
A Sagittarius is one of the most helpful and thoughtful signs of the zodiac. When you tell this archer sign that their input isn’t valued, you’ve basically invalidated their entire existence.

Capricorn: December 22 – January 18

“You should have done it this way.”
Questioning a Capricorn’s choices makes them very, very upset. Not only are you inferring they didn’t make the right decision but you’re insinuating that you know more than they do.

Aquarius: January 19 – February 18

“You are so full of s**t!”
Aquarius is one of the most authentic signs in the zodiac and have carefully analyzed what matters to them and what doesn’t. Any insinuation that they’re less than real can be incredibly hurtful to their sense of self. Aquarians are likely to cut you out of their lives because they literally have no time for your BS.

Pisces: February 19 – March 20

“Isn’t there some place you have to be?”
Pisces works overtime to make sure the people in their lives know they are valued and cherished. To tell this fish sign their presence isn’t wanted or welcome is one of the most hurtful things you can do to a Pisces, as it makes them feel isolated and alone.
