On the obscure holiday calendar, December 31 is known as “Make Up Your Mind Day”. I wonder if this has anything to do with people making New Year’s resolutions.

Most all of the information I have discovered credits the ancient Babylonians with starting the age-old tradition of making new year’s resolutions. While it is unclear just why, I think it is pretty obvious that it is honoring the freshness of the new year as a time to make a conscious and focused effort to break some old, bad habits and embrace the new year as a whole new you.
