Tarot Card Draw #1: Eight of Swords

When the Eight of Swords turns up in your daily draw or a tarot spread, it is often to bring your attention that you are holding yourself in a rather negative situation. You may be unknowingly holding yourself back or choosing to stay in this bad place out of fear, indecision or a lack of confidence to move forward. In addition to fear – possibly unfounded –, the reversed Eight of Swords speaks of anxiety, paranoia and other mental/psychological problems. This card may come up when you find yourself feeling cornered, trapped or in a bad situation with no clear way out. You may be feeling lost, helpless and completely without hope. You have given up your power and feel as though you are being held against your will to some extent be it physically, mentally or emotionally, but mainly mentally. This card could also turn up when you feel others may be judging you, quite possibly harshly or without merit. As you find yourself in any of these negative situations, keep in mind the initial message of the Eight of Swords: you are keeping yourself in this situation. Step back and try to look at things more objectively to try and understand why you are doing this to yourself then take corrective action to rectify or clear up the negative situation and ultimately turn it to your advantage. Lastly, the Eight of Swords could warn of looming legal consequences, quite possibly severe.

Tarot Card Draw #2: King of Wands

The King of Wands may turn up for you if you have been struggling in some area of your life. This card will be to tell you that you definitely have the energy, experience and enthusiasm to accomplish what you set out to achieve at this time. You are taking control of your life. You will motivate those around you, lead the way forward and set a good example for those who look up to you. You do not worry about other people’s opinion of you and you dare to be different when the King of Wands appears in your tarot reading. As a person, the King of Wands is a mature male who is confident, strong, energetic and optimistic and a natural born leader. He is friendly by nature, funny, charming and good with words. He is also fearless, freethinking, motivated and action oriented. He has an independent streak and as such, he needs his freedom and will not tolerate neediness of others. The King of Wands does not like to let emotions stand in the way of his enjoyment of life. He is usually supportive of those around him and has learned to be lenient. However, the King of Wands can be self-centred, hot-tempered and controlling. At his best, when he is allowed his freedom, he is proud, passionate, honest, loyal, dependable and protective.

Tarot Card Draw #3: Two of Pentacles, reversed

More often than not, if the reversed Two of Pentacles turns up for you in a daily tarot draw, it will be during or shortly before a time when you are feeling completely overwhelmed. This card usually speaks of biting off more than you can chew, taking on more than you can handle, getting in over your head or simply having way too many irons in the fire. If you get this card in your daily tarot draw, it is time to step back and do a major reassessment of all that you are trying to do or take on at this time. You need to prioritize and learn to pick your battles. Delegate if needed. Among the indications of the reversed Two of Pentacles is an imbalance in the different areas of your life. You may be spending too much time on work/business matters and allowing family concerns to fall by the wayside. It also indicates that you are making poor choices because you are under pressure and may be getting yourself into more of a mess than you need to. Reversed, the Two of Pentacles may find you feeling overextended, overwhelmed, greatly lacking in organization and stretched way too thin. Something that is strongly suggested by the reversed Two of Pentacles is that you should always have a backup plan or plan b in all things.
