With all of the social restrictions and horrendous economic concerns of the last eight months, depression and anxiety are drastically on the rise. Feelings of depression will manifest in one of two ways. For most people, it will bring about an overwhelming need to sleep all the time. It will cause them to withdraw from life, including family and close friends. People will cry often and almost always without an actual reason. For a small group of those dealing with major depression, it will manifest in extreme anger and frequent outbursts, sometimes even violent. One of our cards today may turn up if you find yourself in this particular group. If you draw this card, do not simply write off the unexplained anger as situational and will soon pass. Look deeper and ensure that it is not something affecting you in a more significant way.

Tarot Card Draw #1: Five of Wands

The image depicted on the face of the Five of Wands is pretty scary. After all, who could stand victorious against a giant dragon other than Donkey in “Shrek”? When this card falls upright for you in your daily draw, it is screaming of fights, disagreements, conflict and opposition of all types. It speaks of losing your temper, acting in an aggressive manner or indulging in overly aggressive thoughts as well as being surrounded by opposition and dealing with constant struggle. If in any kind of negotiations, expect others to be uncooperative and not open to seeing things any differently than they currently do. Beware of a growing restlessness, irritation, aggression and frustration. You may soon find yourself in an ego battle. It is quite possible you have been acting petty and underhanded or are losing control of a situation. Things are getting out of hand and you may be entering into a rather chaotic situation. The Five of Wands may turn up in your daily draw to bring your attention to you possibly acting overly defensive or extremely demanding. This card also often turns up as an indicator of general competition and sporting events. If you get this card in a daily draw, you are urged to try and remove yourself from any negative situations and do a full reassessment. Is the person with whom you are dealing acting unruly, or are you? Make adjustments as needed to restore the peace.

Tarot Card Draw #2: Three of Pentacles (Reversed)

Quite often when the reversed Three of Pentacles comes up for you in a daily draw, it is telling you that you need to get your mind right, focus and get your butt in gear. Among the things this card speaks on is lacking the dedication and concentration needed to get a job done or to attain a desired goal. Possibly you do not know what you are doing and are too lazy to learn. This card also indicates a poor work ethic and trying to pass off your own responsibilities to someone else. The reversed Three of Pentacles is not really a good card to get in a reading as it is shows up to bring your attention to some quite negative behaviors on your part. It signals that you are simply not learning from your mistakes or possibly just refuse to learn from them. It fits along with the old saying, “If you keep doing what you have been doing, you will keep getting what you have been getting.” This card may also indicate that you have lost interest in basic human tasks and responsibilities such as caring for your appearance, cleaning your home, regular showering/bathing, etc. You have simply lost your motivation. Alternatively, if you find yourself involved in some kind of group project or team activity, this card will come up indicating that the group as a whole is not functioning properly. The desire and dedication simply is not there and at least one person is out for their own personal gain or to shine on their own thus eclipsing all others.

Tarot Card Draw #3: The High Priestess (Reversed)

Probably the most important meaning of The High Priestess is your own intuition. When this lovely lady falls in the reverse position in your daily draw, she is there to warn that you are not heeding your own intuition. It is possible you are placing more value on what other people around you may feel is the right decision or the correct path to take. Possibly you are more concerned with pleasing someone else to the detriment of ignoring your own better judgement or intuition. Heed what your gut is telling you. The High Priestess may turn up reversed for you if you have been neglecting yourself in favor of caring for others. You have been putting yourself last and your own needs and desires are not being met. It is time for some self-care, maybe even a spa day or a weekend away in the country away from the hustle of everyday life. Consider unplugging for a day; a no-screen day just to refresh and recharge yourself. You need to get back in touch with your core being / inner spirit. The High Priestess, reversed, may also come up to remind you that you have all of the wisdom and knowledge needed within you to make the right choice and succeed. Just be still and listen.
