Tarot Card Draw #1: The Hierophant
The Hierophant may come up in a tarot spread or daily tarot draw speaking of education. It usually indicates formal higher education but can speak of informal self-study as well or engaging in some self-help work with the assistance of a professional such as a counselor, psychologist, psychiatrist, priest or any other person of the cloth or spiritual advisor. Basically, The Hierophant could be talking about expanding your mind or nurturing your spiritual side as well as mental healing and progression. When talking about a person, The Hierophant could be speaking of a mentor, spiritual advisor or counselor, anyone who could provide you with guidance, advice or wisdom. It could also indicate that you are dealing with a rather rigid person who is quite set in their ways with a limited mindset or who is simply quite close-minded. Alternatively to indicating a person, The Hierophant could also be talking about an institution, organization or group such as any kind of social, political, religious, economic, educational or medical. The Hierophant may also turn up indicating traditional values or ways of thinking as well as the need to act in a more traditional manner. This is not the time to rock the boat, buck tradition or take risky chances. Finally, The Hierophant may come up in a daily tarot draw for you indicating it is time to start creating your own traditions or rituals.
Tarot Card Draw #2: Strength
It need not be stated that the absolute most basic meaning of the Strength card is quite simply *strength* — your own inner strength. But sometimes when we get so caught up in the negative and dark side of life, we just need a little reminder of what lay within us … the strength to simply soldier on to overcome any adverse situation we may be facing. Strength serves as a strong indicator and reminder that you have all the tools and skills within you to overcome whatever dark or negative situation you may be facing. Look within to find the way out. If in a bad romantic relationship, Strength may come up to help you get your emotions in check and under control as this is a rather emotional card. Getting your emotions in order will help you find the calm you need to be more rational and make better choices in order to overcome the challenges you may be, or soon will be, facing. In contrast to external negative forces and challenging situations, Strength is also here to bring your attention to some inner struggles that you may be either denying or of which you are simply not fully aware. These inner struggles could include doubt, fear, anxiety, questioning your own worth and ability. If you have been working to overcome these inner issues, Strength may fall for you in a daily reading simply as a reminder that you do have all that you need within to get through and overcome and hopefully be made better for the experience. It may also come up to encourage you to be brave, take some chances and step outside your comfort zone. Have faith in yourself, your skills and your ability to overcome any adverse situation and know your worth be it in personal connections (friendly, familial, romantic) as well in professionally. In addition to the need to tame your own emotions, Strength may turn up to bring your attention to someone near you who is in need of a little boost or some guidance to get their own emotions in order to deal with some of their own inner demons and struggles. If you choose to try and assist this person, do so with compassion and understanding along with gentle guidance but avoid giving advice of any kind. In a small way, Strength may be trying to encourage you to try and see things from someone else’s perspective in order to gain a better understanding of why they may be acting in a certain way or saying specific things or holding firm to a particular belief or stance.
Tarot Card Draw #3: Ten of Swords
Among the varied dark and negative situations indicated by the Ten of Swords is quite often depression. In a daily draw, it could be a warning of a dark, oppressive time ahead for you. When doing a tarot reading focusing on someone close to you, it may come up as a warning to be extra mindful of that person’s emotional and mental states. Unfortunately, the Ten of Swords is never a good card to draw in any reading but especially in your daily draw. (I’m sorry.) Some of the negative situations the Ten of Swords may be trying to bring your attention to would be people talking harshly behind your back as well as serious betrayal or backstabbing by someone you thought was an advocate of yours or someone you trust. There may be an enemy in your midst. This card also speaks of bitterness, utter failure, complete ruin, harsh or difficult endings and cutting ties or the final goodbye. The Ten of Swords may also herald the ending of a relationship. There are severe mental and emotional implications behind the Ten of Swords other than depression as well such as a nervous breakdown, the inability to cope with a specific situation or anxiety. Physically, the Ten of Swords could be speaking of chronic fatigue or exhaustion. You may be sinking to rock bottom, hitting a brick wall or getting caught up in a dead-end situation or relationship. When speaking of a person, the Ten of Swords can indicate someone playing the victim, a drama queen (or king), one who is given to extreme exaggeration, someone seeking attention at any cost or someone trying to take on the role of martyr. And finally, the Ten of Swords may indicate that you have fallen victim to a curse, hex or the evil eye. It can also forewarn of violence or some kind of physical attack against you.
