Will Toyota shares rebound following Donald Trump tweet?
Toyota shares have dropped after billionaire businessman and president-elect Donald Trump took to twitter to comment on Japanese firm Toyota’s production plans. Within minutes of Mr Trump’s comment, the value of the company fell by approximately $1.2billion.
Toyota announced in April 2015 that there were plans to build a $1billion plant in the Mexican city of Guanajuato offering assurances at that time that it would not take away US jobs. Mr Trump tweeted that Toyota would be stopped from moving to Baja California in Mexico, despite the fact that the company had a plant there already. Evidently, Mr Trump was somewhat confused about the location of Toyota’s existing plant in Baja California, with the planned site in Guanajuato. Oh well, what’s $1.2billion between ‘friends!’ A shadow has now been cast over cross-border production between the two countries. Additionally, the Mexican Peso is at an all-time low and the country’s central bank has stepped in at a time of potential public unrest over increased petrol prices. Prior to Mr Trump’s latest ill-fated tweet, Toyota Motor’s president said that there were no immediate plans to cut production in Mexico.

The Four of Swords reveals a time of strategic withdrawal from the midst of the apparent chaos. The Ace of Swords shows much force and new beginnings. This card has a Karmic energy. The law of cause and effect will play a part in determining the outcome. The solitary double-edged sword may be used for both attack and defense.
Today’s cards indicate that once the initial shock has worn off, it will be a case of ‘business as usual’ for Toyota. The unfortunate tweet will form part of a long list but the business will recover its losses. Lessons have been learned.
