27 Life Lessons I’ve Learnt Along the Way<\/h2>\n

This past week it was my birthday, and as I approach my thirties, I\u2019ve been thinking about the most significant things I\u2019ve learnt so far, my major realizations so to speak, and by the end of the list I made, I knew it could really be inspiring material for an article!<\/p>\n

Birthdays are so full of magic, there\u2019s something special in the air, anticipation and a breeze of nostalgia. I think that birthdays have a special smell, though it\u2019s probably something that happens only in my memories. Be as it may, they are a great moment for remembrance and also for contemplation.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. A trip is always better than any material thing you can buy<\/li>\n
  2. Losing a job is not the end of the world<\/li>\n
  3. Travelling opens your mind and helps you get rid of a lot of prejudice<\/li>\n
  4. Migrating is one of the most difficult things you can do<\/li>\n
  5. You will learn to integrate your grief into your life, carry on and smile again<\/li>\n
  6. Heartache happens, and there\u2019s no insurance against it<\/li>\n
  7. You\u2019re prettier than you realize<\/li>\n
  8. In the same line, nobody actually pays that much attention to the shape of your body<\/li>\n
  9. Accepting your image solves a great deal of issues<\/li>\n
  10. Everybody, no matter how good looking and fit they are, has some insecurities<\/li>\n
  11. If you fail, the world won\u2019t stop<\/li>\n
  12. If you succeed, the world won\u2019t stop either<\/li>\n
  13. You don\u2019t have to explain yourself<\/li>\n
  14. You will probably go through a great deal of failed relationships<\/li>\n
  15. You will survive each heartache<\/li>\n
  16. Most times, the cause of your heartache will be that they don\u2019t love you enough, and it has nothing to do with you<\/li>\n
  17. You can\u2019t force love<\/li>\n
  18. Your feelings are yours, and nobody can take them away from you<\/li>\n
  19. There\u2019s nothing better than waking up to doing what you love doing<\/li>\n
  20. You won\u2019t always necessarily feel butterflies for your partner and that\u2019s still love<\/li>\n
  21. Not everyone who says to be your friend is actually your friend<\/li>\n
  22. Up to this day, problems have always found a way to resolve, and so far the record doesn\u2019t indicate current or future problems won\u2019t find a way to work out<\/li>\n
  23. Credit cards are a bad idea<\/li>\n
  24. It is okay to embarrass yourself<\/li>\n
  25. Your situation is not as unique as you think<\/li>\n
  26. You can love someone and still don\u2019t want them to be a part of your life<\/li>\n
  27. Just because you\u2019ve been doing something all your life, doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s good for you, or that you can\u2019t change it<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
