Are you being given the best advice by your psychic reader?<\/h2>\n

When I am giving a reading, I often feel as though I am channeling someone else in the guidance I give. This is especially true when talking about very serious subjects, such as in one example the perceived sexual orientation of a young child. <\/p>\n

A while back, I had a client who was really struggling with the fact her six-year-old grandson wanted to carry a purse. He also was drawn to flashy and colorful jewelry and a few other \u201cgirly\u201d objects which greatly concerned my client.<\/p>\n

Even though my own teen granddaughter had recently come out as being gay, I had never dealt with this kind of situation in my business. But somehow, the exact words my client needed to hear simply flowed from my mouth. After our lengthy conversation, I sat holding my phone wondering where all of that wisdom had originated. I looked back on my own words and was amazed at how easy they had flowed forth and at how much it all made sense.<\/p>\n

Since that time, I often reflect on certain readings and wonder where all the right words had come from. <\/p>\n

While I do not go into a trance or lose consciousness in any way, I often feel as though my mouth has been taken over by a higher power. For years after I first started reading professionally, I would say a little prayer before each and every reading asking, \u201cGod, please speak through me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Apparently, he heard my prayers and did just that. This is in no way to toot my own horn, but I am often amazed at how much wisdom I am able to conjure up. People have thanked me for working miracles in their lives and they say talking with me is cheaper than therapy and so much more effective.<\/p>\n

I am not a licensed therapist or counselor, but like many Readers, I am often called upon to serve in a similar capacity. There is a popular meme showing what different people think Readers do with, \u201cWhat I actually do,\u201d being a graphic from the wonderful Peanuts comic strip with Lucy at the psychiatric booth.<\/p>\n

That really is true. Readers so often find themselves in the position of confidante or counselor. Without crossing any boundaries, a good Reader will give solid advice that is not based in his or her own opinion. <\/p>\n

Quite a few of us have become ordained ministers and are able to counsel others in a pastoral capacity. We participate in courses and workshops to educate ourselves and to be able to better assist our clients. However, I am very careful to not cross any boundaries with respect to licensed counselors and therapists. <\/p>\n

A good reading should give you so much more than a prediction of things to come. A good reading should provide guidance and advice on how to proceed for the best possible outcome. It should also be completely unbiased.<\/p>\n

As one who screens potential new readers, I was once had a test reading with an applicant in which she literally told me that what I felt about my own relationship status is wrong. I was floored. She went on to say that I did not fully understand what I felt and that I really did desire to have a life-long partner despite the fact I have chosen to remain single for many, many years. <\/p>\n

If you ever come across a Reader so opinionated, run. Hang up. Seek guidance from a true professional and one who has no personal stake in you or your situation. Choose a Reader who wants only what is best for you, even if it contradicts their own beliefs.<\/p>\n
