It was announced this week, that Anne Hathaway has been awarded the position of ambassador for UN Women. Her role will be to raise awareness of women and girls rights. She will be highlighting how women are expected to fill many roles, both at home and in the workplace, while losing out on equal opportunities. Hathaway, who became a Mom this year for the first time, will be able to draw from her own experience in trying to balance the two worlds of being a professional woman and a Mother.<\/p>\n
Her role will be to help change people\u2019s mindsets of the stereotype stay at home mom, or the thinking that girls cannot fulfill roles due to their gender. It will hopefully highlight to employers that they are just as capable. Anne comes across as someone who is down to earth, calm and approachable, although she can feel free to disagree with me on this. But she is just the kind of personality that is needed to fill this role.<\/p>\n
