It highlights the plight of women in many countries across the world, where violence against women is becoming the norm, where education is denied on the grounds of gender and generally sends a strong message of unity to women across the world.<\/p>\n
Personally, I feel this is a very powerful move, as in most cases where the injustice is being done, it is being carried out by men and it would not be in those men\u2019s best interest to change this. So the action has to come from within, with women empowering women to rise above it and stop it. As a male, I can honestly say it\u2019s refreshing, as not all men are of that mindset. I can never understand the mentality of men who treat women with no respect\u00a0or women who treat men the same. It\u2019s about respect for all on an equal level regardless of gender.<\/p>\n
Do the cards think it will get the message out there? The Devil Card quite rightly sums up the reason for the video. It means breaking bad habits. People get used to something being a certain way and accept it because they have never seen it from the other angle. Breaking this chain of abuse in even 1 generation could mean a generation of girls from all over the world accepting nothing less for their daughters. The Eight of Coins indicates the value of the video. Letting women know that regardless of where they are in the world, what religion, what tone of skin, age or marital status, this song is for you and you do not stand alone. The Wheel of Fortune points to the change that will one day come. The day will come when the daughters and sons of the world shake their head in disbelief at the stories of the injustice of today.
