Miranda Lamberts\u00a0recently attended the Country Music Awards and the talented singer walked away with Female Vocalist of the Year. As you would expect a great time was had by all with lots of photo\u2019s to mark the event; including a pic of Miranda and her boyfriend that she posted on Instagram. The photo wasn\u2019t received as well as Miranda had hoped and she received many negative responses. Miranda decided to respond in kind and hit out at the haters and the naysayers on social media with the following post:<\/p>\n
\u2018Every now and then I decide to re-join the world of social media and post something really personal.\u2019 The post included a caption of herself riding her horse. \u2018Not promoting anyone or anything. Not selling a better version of myself to anyone or trying to look cool like we all do all the time. Just a picture that either I or someone I know and care about took the time to take and see the beauty in.\u2019 She continued with, \u2018Just now when I looked I realized so many comments were judgmental and negative.\u2019 She finished off with a quote from the inspirational Maya Angelou, \u2018Words are things. You must be careful, careful about calling people out of their names, using racial pejoratives and sexual pejoratives and all that ignorance. Don’t do that. Some day we’ll be able to measure the power of words. I think they are things. They get on the walls. They get in your wallpaper. They get in your rugs, in your upholstery, and your clothes, and finally in to you.\u2019
\nYes Miranda, people are judgmental! More than one person made a judgement that Miranda was the greatest talent this year when she bagged the Female Vocalist of the Year Award. Fans and followers make the decision to buy her records because Miranda has engaged in a manner that resonates in some capacity. She\u2019s clearly struggling with the social media side of life and her defensive response reveals much hurt. Feeling comfortable enough to share personal things does not mean that said posts will be received in the way she wishes. Sometimes you just have to take the rough with the smooth.<\/p>\n
Miranda drew the Four of Hearts, the Four of Swords and the Seven of Pentacles.<\/p>\n
The Four of Hearts <\/b> represents the emotions within this situation and shows that Miranda has taken a step back due to dissatisfaction. I feel that she will continue to re-evaluate her relationship with social media and find a more positive way of engaging with her fans moving forward. Now is not that time.<\/p>\n
The Four of Swords <\/b> says that the truth hurts, and just because it is someone else\u2019s truth, or viewpoint, it does not lesson the hurt. Miranda has taken sanctuary in the things that she loves and that are important to her. I feel that she should appreciate that social media has its place in her life and engage less personally with it. Leave the personal stuff away from the public domain.<\/p>\n
The Seven of Pentacles <\/b> reveals the frustrations, fears and worries. It is neither profitable nor necessary to expect fans and followers to engage in the manner that a loved one or close friend might. I feel that Miranda will get past this and learn from it.<\/p>\n
Miranda\u2019s feelings were hurt and she lashed out. It is human nature to wish to share the excitement of winning an award and she should not let the negativity detract from the achievement.
