Homeless girl scout Troop 6000 brings inspiration<\/h1>\n

Girl scouts make you feel special. They make you feel as if you were part of something bigger, something great. You get a sense of belonging, a sense of purpose. All scout groups are special, but there is one that probably tops them all. Why? Because its members are homeless.<\/p>\n

A single mum\u2019s initiative to give her daughters something to look forward to soon became invaluable to many. Giselle Burgess lost her home in August and helped create Troop 6000. The scout group is a safe haven for homeless girls and their families. There they can use their imagination and creativity, thus escaping the harsh reality they live in. It\u2019s something for them to look forward to. Something to keep them going, no matter what.<\/p>\n

“It kind of feels like you’re not alone, it shows you that you’re not the only one who has the same problem.” One of the scouts said. It is amazing how these girls are able to push aside all their worries and unite for a common goal. Every single day. They act like real sisters and feel blessed for what they have.<\/i><\/p>\n
