The actor\u2019s manager stated, \u201cNelsan has passed away after complications with heart failure. He was a great talent and his words and presence will be forever missed.\u201d Following the news, HBO, \u201cTrue Blood\u201d creator Alan Ball and others mourned the loss. The actor was \u201ca long-time member of the HBO family whose groundbreaking portrayal of Lafayette will be remembered fondly within the overall legacy of \u2018True Blood. Ball read a statement released by HBO about the news of Ellis\u2019 death. \u201cNelsan was a singular talent whose creativity never ceased to amaze me. They hope his story can possibly help others dealing with the same addictions. \u201cNelsan was ashamed of his addiction and thus was reluctant to talk about it during his life,\u201d the statement reads. \u201cHis family, however, believes that in death he would want his life to serve as a cautionary tale in an attempt to help others.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
