Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have debuted a new song together, \u201cWe\u2019re on the Road Again.\u201d On Feb. 19, Paul McCartney visited the Los Angeles home of Ringo Starr and the two played music together. Right after the visit Ringo Starr posted on Twitter:

\nAt the time, it was unclear whether Starr would eventually release anything from the session but now we don\u2019t have to wonder. Finally, after all these months, we know the jam up actually did amount to more than just a once-in-a-blue-moon reunion of two old friends from a band. The new song that has just made its debut is a collaborative work between the two former Beatles band members. A new song, \u201cWe\u2019re on the Road Again,\u201d just made its debut. It\u2019s the first official musical collaboration between the former Beatles since Starr\u2019s 2010 song, \u201cWalk with You.\u201d I’m sure Beatles’ fans the world over are going crazy over the news. Its nostalgia personified!\n<\/p>\n
\nMcCartney contributes vocals to the track along with \u201csurprisingly punk-styled bass,\u201d as Rolling Stone described it. The Eagles\u2019 Joe Walsh (Starr\u2019s brother-in-law), Edgar Winter and the song\u2019s co-writer, Toto\u2019s Steve Lukather, are also heard on the track. The collaboration follows a tradition of songs about roads the duo previously released \u201cThe Long and Winding Road\u201d and \u201cWhy Don\u2019t We Do It in the Road?\u201d along with the album \u201cAbbey Road\u201d with the Beatles. The new track will appear on Starr\u2019s forthcoming 19th solo album, \u201cGive More Love.\u201d McCartney will also be featured on a song called \u201cShow Me the Way.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

We have lost so many great rocker icons in the last few months, it is wonderful to see the new music contribution from the two that are left of a group that started the first British invasion of sounds in the 60\u2019s.
